Dear Karla
It gives me great pleasure to recognize and commend you for your outstanding contribution to the Peoples Transportation Plan. Your commitment to give selflessly of your time and energy has made a lasting impact in this community. Your training on How to Deal with Difficult Audiences was an important contribution. You should feel proud knowing you have paved the way for a better tomorrow. On behalf of Miami-Dade County, I commend you for your efforts and applaud you for a job well done.
Sincerely, Alex Penelas Mayor, Miami-Dade County
Dear Ms. Scott:
I wish to thank you very much for the excellent job you did teaching the Fair Employment Practices class on April 30th, 2004. I was most impressed by your eloquence, knowledge of the subject matter, self confidence and elegant style. It was a pleasure listening to you and very easy to understand everything you said. Although I've had many teachers in the course of my career, I must tell you that you certainly are one of the very best educators I've ever encountered. I wish to congratulate you and thank you sincerely once more for a very outstanding job. Thanks to you, I now have a better understanding of my job's requirements. I wish we could have more people like you in the public school system. You're a great asset to the Dade County Training system.
Sincerely, Eduardo Acevedo Airport Operations Sr. Agent MDAD/ Miami International Airport
Dear Miss Scott:
It was indeed a pleasure having you as our Instructor for the class we took on Effective Management Skills. Your teaching techniques and manner are to be commended. It was such a refreshing experience. Not very often does one find an individual who can lecture and keep you interested in the class. Again your manner and your voice were just so pleasant and soothing. I look forward to taking the next class with you, (Dealing with Difficult People). I know that the experience will be just as pleasant as the first one. All the best with your continued career with Miami-Dade County

Good morning Ms. Scott.
I am Donna Thomas-Jones of the Finance Tax Collector Division. I just wanted to take the time to inform you that I found the class on Culture and Diversity very informative. I really enjoyed the way the class was structured to include everyone's opinions. So often classes are held with the intentions of being of the best interest of the employee and it does not turn out that way. In your case it appears that our best interest was at heart. When classes are constructed for the employees, they often grumble about having to go. A class is successful whether it kept the interest of an employee or not. Even though I know your goal is to strive and have each employee participate or at least gather as much information from the classes as possible, keep in mind that they are always a success. But my hat goes off to you for bringing cultural diversity in a different light. Keep up the good work. I know this email is late in coming but the benefits will be the same. My goal is to inform you that it was a job well done.

Karla: See what an effect you have had; not just on me, but on anyone I've told about your Dealing with Difficult People class? I never knew this stuff was out there... I'd like to have the opportunity to speak with you again sometime. Could we meet for lunch one day? (I promise to not "pick your brain" for 100% of the time; but it might be 50% of the time...). In any case, thanks again for all your help. It was a pleasant surprise to come away from a half-day seminar with such useful skills!

Dear Karla
You are an excellent communicator, well-prepared, and you speak with such clarity. You are the most valuable of all the county facilitators because you have such keen insight. You are an asset and should be consulted for other workshops. This class went way beyond my expectations. I look forward to taking more of your classes.
Thank you again. Charles Parchment Water & Sewer Department, Miami-Dade County
Hello Karla
It was fantastic! You are an enthusiastic and energetic communicator and you are well-versed in many subjects. It was wonderful being in your class and you have been an excellent teacher. The recommended reading list was also helpful.

Dear Professor Scott I loved your course on Employment Planning and Placement. I am hoping we will have you to teach other courses. I totally agree with your methodology of instructing. I sat thru so many classes during undergraduate school and couldn’t tell you much about it because I don’t remember what happened after the exam was over. Your class was entirely different because I can apply what you taught us in my workplace every day.
Thank you. JaRenae Whitehead Human Resources Manager, Dept of Radiology, University of Miami
Dear Miss Scott
I give your class an A+. I liked everything about the class including your enthusiasm, the course content, and even the text book you selected for the Employment Planning & Placement class was helpful.
Keep up the good work!
